This Changes Everything

What if confronting the climate crisis is the best chance we’ll ever get to build a better world? The documentary released in 2016  is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change — connecting global stories of struggle with the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there.

A Message from the Future II: The Years of Repair…

In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Naomi co-produced this animated short film. It dares to dream of a future in which 2020 is a historic turning point, where the lessons of the Covid-19 pandemic and global uprisings against racism drive us to build back a better society in which no one is sacrificed and everyone is essential. The film is narrated by Gael Garcia Bernal, Emma Thompson, and Opal Tometi, and illustrated by Molly Crabapple.

The Take

Released in 2004, The Take is a political documentary that turns the globalization debate on its head as it follows Argentina’s radical new movement of occupied businesses: groups of workers who are claiming the country’s bankrupt workplaces and running them without bosses whose slogan is “Occupy. Resist. Produce.”

A Message from The Future: The Green New Deal

Prior to finishing On Fire, Naomi co-produced this seven-minute film narrated by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and illustrated by Molly Crabapple. Set a couple of decades from now, it rejects the idea that a dystopian future is a foregone conclusion. Instead, it questions, What if we chose to radically change course and save both our habitat and ourselves? What would the future look like then?  The film was viewed over 12 million times and nominated for an Emmy.

The Shock Doctrine

Naomi Klein’s much-acclaimed book The Shock Doctrine is the starting point for this strong documentary short that premiered in grand style at the 2007 Venice Film Festival. A collaboration with Alfonso and Jonás Cuarón.
